What a fantastic night of fights in NYC for @PFLmma’s first ever PPV championship night. All involved are worthy of high praise for a brutal schedule of 4 fights in 8 months but I only have so much room in this post. For the champions, I was in awe last night of what they all achieved. These are all special, hard working and gifted individuals, no question about it. I’d like to talk about 2 champions in particular last night tho.
First of all, @lpaccheco won the fight. When they showed who I thought won on the graphic last night, I was wrong and it’s important to note this. She fought tooth and nail with Kayla Harrison, one of the most dominant champions in the sport right now. At no point did Larissa willingly concede any position out there. Both ladies showed amazing heart but Larissa doled out more damage in round 5 earning her one of the biggest upsets in mma history. Many wrote her off and thought this was gonna be another easy Kayla win. Those that paid attention however knew Larissa has proven herself over the last two seasons as one of the best in the sport as well.
The other champion I want to write about is @brendanmma who showed what heart and dedication is all about in his extremely challenging season and capped it off with a win in an absolute war against Bubba Jenkins. When you combine Brendan’s intelligence and high level of skills with his toughness, you have one of the best featherweights in the world, in any organization. A massive thank you to the fighters, the production, the broadcasting team and all involved in last night’s epic night. See you in 2023. 
Had the pleasure of sitting next to a coupla’ true MMA legends last night for the @PFLmma championships. @realocsports @xcnatch & I had @frankieedgar & my old training partner and friend @georgesstpierre sitting with us at the booth and helping us break it all down. Learned so much from this guy while I was at @tristargym both on and off the mats. The GSP was in NYC to support his buddy & training partner @oliaubin who became a world champ last night. :
